Steam Greenlight announced

Valve has announced new community voting system Steam Greenlight.

Steam Greenlight will let gamers vote on which indie titles they would like to see published on the Steam platform.

Developers can post information, screenshots and videos of their games before going through the voting process.

A game will not need a specific amount of votes to qualify for being published.

A Valve statement read: “We’re going to be reaching out to developers as we see their games getting traction regardless of whether they have achieved a specific number of votes or are sitting first or second place at any given time.

“We are most interested in finding the games that people want, not requiring them to always hit a specific number of votes.”

Steam Greenlight will be released 30 August.
