THQ has announced a new weather simulating technology which will debut in Company of Heroes 2.
The ColdTech system will force players to think of different strategies as soldiers can now freeze to death in minutes.
Players will have to build fires to survive the cold while snow melts depending on how close it is to the fire.
Frozen lakes can be collapsed and blizzards can appear out of nowhere.
The environment will also impact movement, the deeper the snow the slower you’ll be able to move.
Game director, Quinn Duffy, said: “Company of Heroes 2 is all about authenticity and no game based on the Eastern Front would be complete without extreme weather conditions.”
