Limbo developer's next game 'two years away'
PlayDead has said its next game won’t be released for ‘at least two years’.
The studio responsible for platformer Limbo revealed its next title, named Project 2, will launch when it is ready.
Game director, Arnt Jensen, told IGN: “We took a lot of financial risk to release Limbo only when we felt it was ready and we are prepared to do so again.”
Jensen also spoke about wanting to release the game on multiple platforms using the Unity game engine.
He added: “We always want as many people as possible to play and Unity makes it easy to come out on different platforms.
“With our own technology, we spent a lot of time and money porting Limbo. With Unity this will be easier.”
Ideas that didn’t make it into Limbo may also be added to Project 2.
“Many ideas were cut [from Limbo], right up until the very end. We’re still working with some of the ideas that didn’t make it into Limbo.”
Project 2 is a puzzle platform/adventure game that ‘tells the story of a boy’s struggle against evil forces trying to take over the world through questionable experiments on human bodies’.
