Pro controller made for third-party Wii U games
Nintendo has claimed the Pro controller will make it easier for third-party developers to create games for Wii U.
Wii U hardware producer, Katsuya Eguchi, told Gameplanet it was important to make the Pro controller so that developers can port games to Wii U easily.
Eguchi said: “Adding a Pro controller may make it easier for multi-platform games to come out on the system.
“Wii remotes don’t have things like analog sticks. To make it as easy as possible to enjoy certain multiplayer experiences it was important to have that Pro controller.”
Eguchi went on to claim that Nintendo wants to appeal to more hardcore gamers with the Wii U.
He added: “We’re all gamers as well and we appreciate the interest of those [hardcore] gamers, and we don’t want them to feel left out, so we’re making big strides and changes in that area.”
