Blizzard not raising WoW free-to-play level cap
Blizzard has no plans to raise the free-to-play cap in World of Warcraft above level 20.
Currently new players can try out the World of Warcraft universe for free until they hit level 20, then they have to pay the subscription fee to continue.
Game director, John Lagrave, said this gives players enough time to discover what World of Warcraft is all about.
Lagrave told CVG: "You know, we looked at it lots, we looked at whether level 20 would give you a good sense of what our game is, and we think it does. We've definitely slid some of the pay-for features into the first 20 levels.
"But there's also a lot of things in the game that are special that we want to reserve for our paying customers."
The next World of Warcraft expansion, Mists of Pandaria, is due to launch 25 September. You can check out the cinematic trailer here.
