Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes; new film announced
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes has been revealed by Konami.
The newest installment in the MGS series will be an open world game powered by Kojima Productions' Fox Engine.
The announcement was made during an event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear series.
The first Ground Zero image appears to show Solid Snake's mentor Big Boss, although nothing has yet been confirmed.
Cut scenes are reportedly rendered in real time and move into gameplay without a change in graphics.
It is not yet clear which platforms Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will launch on or whether it is targeted for next-gen or current-gen consoles.
A Metal Gear Solid movie was also announced during the event.
It is to be produced by Avi Arad, known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk.
Mobile game Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops was confirmed too.
