Ubisoft to release fewer 'big games' next-gen
Ubisoft will publish fewer triple-A titles for the next-generation of consoles, according to CEO Yves Guillemot.
The next versions of the Xbox and PlayStation are expected to launch in about a years time.
Guillemot predicts Ubisoft will make less big games and instead focus on finding new areas for innovation.
He told the Guardian: "With next-gen consoles, it's going toward bigger games, and yes, we will make less of them.
"But with free-to-play games, the teams aren't as big so we can try different things and find subjects that are of interest to consumers."
Guillemot also claimed the next-gen consoles will be about more than just added power.
He added: "The machines will be more powerful, but we can expect this generation - because they took quite a long time! - to actually come with something really new, really interesting that will boost the market enormously."
