Wii U will be region-locked
Nintendo has confirmed the Wii U will be region-locked.
The company confirmed the news to Famitsu, with a translation being posted on Twitter.
It read: "What can be played on the Wii U is restricted by a region-lock feature; software not sold in the same region cannot be played."
Nintendo's Wii and 3DS systems are also region-locked.
The Wii U launches in Europe on 30 November. For more information, click here.
