Halo franchise sells 50 million units
Microsoft has announced that the sales of all Halo games around the world have reached the 50 million mark.
The target has been reached 11 years after Halo: Combat Evolved was launched back in 2001.
"To date, more than 50 million copies of Halo games have been sold worldwide, driving more than 5 billion hours of gameplay by people connected to Xbox Live," read a Microsoft statement.
Halo 4 launched a month ago and is estimated to have sold around 4 million copies.
Yesterday the franchise development director for Halo, Frank O'Connor, said 343 Industries is already working on the next Halo title.
