Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain announced
Konami has officially announced Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
Series creator Hideo Kojima finally confirmed that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and mysterious project The Phantom Pain are part of the same game.
They are both combined to form Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
Kojima later went on to explain that Ground Zeroes is the prologue to Metal Gear Solid 5, while The Phantom Pain is the main game set nine years afterwards.
"We are confident that the Fox Engine will both expand and revolutionise the Metal Gear Solid series, and will provide the customary high-quality and immersive experiences that are associated with all titles produced by Kojima Productions," said Konami's Shinji Hiraro.
Little is known about the game, but it has been confirmed that The Phantom Pain portion will involve Big Boss waking up from a coma after the fall of Mother Base.
