Nintendo could be discontinuing DS production

Nintendo could be set to stop production of the DS handheld this year.
The company announced its yearly financial results earlier today, saying 10million DS games are expected to be sold before 31 March 2014.
However there was no forecast for DS hardware units, with the forecast column left blank.
It would be no surprise if the DS was to be discontinued, considering Nintendo's plans to further market its 3DS handheld.
If this is the end of the DS then it's had a superb run, shifting 153million units since launching in 2004 and becoming the company's best-selling console.
In fact only the PlayStation 2 has sold more units than the 3DS at 155million.
We'll bring you more as soon as we hear it.
