PES 2014 not coming to next-gen consoles

Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 definitely won't be coming to next-gen consoles, according to PES community manager Adam Bhatti.

PES 2014 was revealed yesterday, with news that the football game wouldn't be launching on Wii U, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PS Vita or the 3DS.

Bhatti told fans of the series over Twitter that Konami isn't interested in creating high resolution versions of the same game for next-gen.

"In the past people accused us of being lazy," he said. "We're adamant of not making the same mistakes, and making sure we create amazing football games.

"It's hardly amazing making the next-gen version prettier. We shouldn't have that mentality, and you shouldn't expect that. Aim higher."

Bhatti also confirmed that PES 2014 wouldn't be coming to the Wii U because there is "no demand for it".

Unfortunately this means the Wii U won't be getting a football game this year, as EA recently said that FIFA 14 is skipping Nintendo's newest console as well.
