Titanfall will never release on PS4 or PS3

Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that eagerly-anticipated shooter Titanfall will never be available on the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 3.

The studio insisted during an earnings call with investors that Titanfall is exclusive to Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC platforms

The news will disappoint many players who were hoping to see the game arrive on a Sony console in the future.

"In the case of Titanfall, it's a brand-new IP, and it's exclusive only, for the life of the title, on Xbox One and Xbox 360 and PCs," said EA CFO and executive vice president Blake Jorgensen.

Respawn co-founder backed up the news on Twitter.

"[Titanfall was] always MS exclusive at launch, great partner and focus is good for a startup," he wrote.

"EA made a deal for the rest, we only found out recently."

Zampella claimed that future Titanfall games could be released on other platforms, just not the first one.
