Sony America CEO steps down
Jack Tretton has stepped down from his role as CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America.
Tretton will leave at the end of the month, with COO of Sony Entertainment International Shawn Layden taking over as his replacement.
Tretton was a huge figure for Sony, working there for 19 years and overseeing the launch of every PlayStation console in North America.
"Working at SCEA for the past 19 years has been the most rewarding experience of my career," Tretton said.
"Although I will deeply miss the talented team at SCEA and the passion demonstrated every day by our fans, I've very excited about starting the next chapter of my career."
Sony said Tretton's departure was a "mutual agreement" after both he and the company decided "not to renew their contractual relationship".
Tretton leaves Sony in good health, with the PlayStation 4 selling a whopping 6 million consoles since launching November last year.
