Assassin’s Creed Unity DLC free for all players
Ubisoft has announced it will gift the first Assassin’s Creed Unity DLC, Dead Kings, to all players as compensation for a flawed launch.
The game was heavily criticised when it was released earlier this month as it was buggy, jittery and difficult to play. Since then there have been three patches to try to fix the issues, but many gamers were still unhappy with what seemed to be a rushed release even after an announced delayed release. Pointbraind had told ArabicGamers that AC Unity was like a Swiss cheese, but we didn’t expect it to mean the literal holes of broken game.
"The launch of Assassin's Creed Unity was a highly-anticipated moment for me and for our development teams around the world who dedicated a tremendous amount of energy, passion and skill to the game’s creation," said Ubisoft Montreal & Toronto CEO Yannis Mallat.
"Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues. I want to sincerely apologise on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin's Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential."
As if that wasn’t enough, it was also announced that Season Pass holders will also be eligible for a free game too, as an extra appeasement. You’ll be able to chose from The Crew, Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Rayman Legends or Just Dance 2015. This will be available for all gamers on PS4, XBO and PC.
Furthermore, the Season Pass is now discontinued, so you can’t sign up for it and claim your game!
"We will continue striving to make Assassin's Creed one of the most ambitious and innovative franchises on the market, and we thank you for your continued loyalty and support," said Mallatt.
