Wii U specifications revealed
Final specifications for the Wii U have been revealed.
The upcoming console was announced earlier this year with many people suggesting it would have the same amount of power as an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.
Development sources have told Eurogamer the Wii U's final specifications, which include a CPU with three IBM Power PC cores, 1GB of RAM for games and an AMD series 7 GPU.
1GB of RAM is roughly twice what the Xbox 360 offers while the GPU supports shader type 4 and DX10 type features.
The CPU has an undefined clock speed although reports suggest it is lower than the Xbox 360 and PS3.
An anonymous source told Eurogamer: "The Wii U is a nice console to work with because it's got so much RAM in comparison [to the PS3 and Xbox 360].
"For E3 we simply dumped the whole game into memory and never once used the disc after the content was loaded from it."
More Wii U details are expected to be announced at a Nintendo conference next month.
